EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
The Northern Neck Orchestra celebrates great music through diverse programs featuring renowned guest soloists, innovative works and timeless masterpieces. Enthusiastically supported by the community, the artistry and verve of its Grammy Award‑winning Music Director, Michael Repper, and the exceptional talents of its musicians, the Orchestra is flourishing in its artistry and popularity.
The Orchestra is seeking its first Executive Director to lead its fundraising, operations, marketing and community partnership endeavors. The position is a singular opportunity to generate the organization’s future growth and play a significant role as its public face. The Executive Director will serve as the Orchestra’s Chief Administrative Officer and report directly to the Board of Directors.
Responsibilities
Development: Leading fundraising programs, including grants, sponsorships, annual giving and donor relations, and pursuing new sources of revenue.
Organizational Leadership: Managing operational aspects of the Orchestra, including finance, personnel and volunteers.
Marketing and Communications: Broadening recognition of the Orchestra within the region and beyond, promoting Orchestra and Chamber Music concerts and special events.
Community Engagement: Fostering partnerships with community organizations through innovative programs.
Qualifications Experience in non‑profit management, preferably in performing arts administration, with proven success in fundraising, marketing and event planning. The ability to communicate effectively, a passion for community engagement and a love of orchestral music are important attributes for this position.
Compensation The part‑time Executive Director will have flexible hours. Compensation will be commensurate with experience. There is a likelihood that the position will become a full‑time post with additional compensation.
