Who We Are
Mission Technologies is seeking an experienced Specification Writer to join our team. In this role, you will develop and maintain detailed technical specifications that support a diverse range of mission‑critical projects. You will work closely with engineers, project managers, and other key stakeholders to produce clear, accurate, and concise documentation that aligns with client requirements, industry standards, and internal guidelines.
What You Will Do
Prepare specifications from engineering change notices, customer specifications, and/or published data sheets.
Maintain customer specifications files.
Review customer drawings and data.
Translate customer language into standard procedures and product flow.
What You Must Have
High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of additional education and/or related experience.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
Proficiency with personal computers, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
Strong editorial skills.
Effective communication skills with co‑workers to obtain resources needed to complete tasks.
Ability to work independently but also effectively on a team.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
Bonus Points For Having
Operational and maintenance experience on submarine combat control systems, sonar systems, exterior communications systems, navigation systems, or electronic warfare systems.
Experience with developing and editing industrial and/or military specifications, procedures, or manuals, and familiarity with equipment and system engineering drawings.
Physical Requirements Job performance may require working in an industrial or shipboard environment. Must be capable of climbing ladders, and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
Salary Range The listed salary range for this role is $45,718.00–$52,000.00 based on the role's location, expectations, and responsibilities.
