Job Title: Relationship Banker I - Bilingual Job Description
The Relationship Banker will serve as the single point of contact for customers. This individual will connect with customers to understand how best to match their needs with First United Bank products and services, and will mentor employees to do the same. Essential Duties:
Maintains a basic knowledge of all First United Bank products, services, procedures, policies and applicable regulatory issues (including Bank Secrecy Act, Privacy, Fair Lending, Regulation E; deposit, transaction and loan accounts). Follows proper procedures for all customer-servicing activities. Retains existing customers and develops new customer relationships. Serves as customers’ single point of contact on all First United Bank products and services. Meets and often exceeds performance goals; participates in sales campaigns; promotes new products and educates customers and peers. Participates in meetings, bank functions, and community events as requested. Provides excellent customer service to generate customer loyalty and builds rapport with customers. Identifies and matches customer product needs with First United Bank products and services; makes referrals to other staff as needed. Opens new accounts, certificates of deposit, and other bank products; provides necessary information and completes paperwork accurately. Assists customers with routine questions and requests (balance inquiries, statements, stop payments, online banking, ACH, transfers, direct deposit, wire processing, notary, privacy). Processes transactions accurately and efficiently per policy; handles cash, money orders, traveler's checks, loans payments, and other services. Maintains appropriate cash drawer limits and vault duties; performs cash verification and resolution of discrepancies. Proactively resolves customer complaints or problems. Reviews and resolves account issues; assists customers with account charge-off repayment plans. Performs security functions by opening/closing bank and vault, ensuring safety of bank grounds. Masters the Primary Purpose and Essential Duties of the Relationship Banker I position. Employee Specifications:
High School Diploma strongly preferred; some college preferred. One year of retail experience preferred. Cash handling experience preferred. Superior customer service skills required. Basic mathematics and strong attention to detail. Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively with customers and coworkers. Ability to manage time effectively and work independently. Good judgment and decision-making skills; strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Ability to multi-task and maintain a professional attitude and appearance. Ethical conduct in all work situations; active listening and relationship-building with customers.
