Relationship Banker I Floater Job Description

The Relationship Banker will serve as the single point of contact for customers, connecting with them to understand their needs and match them with First United Bank products and services. The role demands strong customer service, precision, and adherence to policies and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities

Maintain a basic knowledge of all First United Bank products, services, procedures, policies, and regulatory issues related to daily job functions. Follow proper procedures accurately and efficiently for all customer-servicing activities. Retain existing customers and develop new customer relationships. Serve as customers’ single point of contact on all First United Bank products and services. Consistently meet and often exceed performance goals; actively participate in all sales campaigns, promoting new products and educating customers and peers within the bank. Participate in all meetings, bank functions, and customer appreciation/community events as requested or assigned by the supervisor. Consistently meet customer service expectations by offering excellent service, greeting customers, smiling, using their names, and building rapport designed to generate loyalty. Identify and match customer product needs by interviewing customers and discussing their financial needs; make referrals to other staff to ensure needs are met. Open new accounts, certificates of deposit, and other ancillary products; answer customer questions, provide account opening information, and ensure proper paperwork is completed. Assist customers with routine questions and requests, such as balance inquiries, statements, check copies, stops, holds, online banking, ACH, fund transfers, wire processing, coin processing, notary services, and privacy. Process a variety of transactions quickly with minimal or no errors according to established policies and procedures. Maintain appropriate drawer limits, perform cash verifications, and perform vault duties. Verify all transactions, place holds as appropriate, and close the cash drawer upon shift completion to ensure compliance with standards. Proactively resolve customer complaints, problems, or issues. Review and resolve account issues listed in insufficient and exception reports on a daily basis. Perform security functions by opening and closing the bank and vault, and ensuring overall safety and security of the bank grounds. High school diploma strongly preferred; some college strongly preferred. Minimum of 1 year of banking experience as a teller, lending assistant, or new accounts is required. Cash handling experience preferred. Superior customer service skills required. Basic mathematics to solve problems. High level of accuracy with daily work. Excellent reading, writing, and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage time effectively and work independently. Judgement and decision‑making skills. Critical thinking – logic and reasoning to identify solutions. Multi‑tasking ability. Professional attitude and appearance. Ethical behavior in and out of work.
