Environmental Sanitor, AM, Fresh Kitchen - Deerfield

Responsibilities
Disassemble and clean, sanitize, and reassemble all detachable production equipment
Apply chemicals to equipment and environmental locations
Organize and clean kitchen, trash dock, and storage areas
Transport racks, tubs, cardboard, and equipment to specified areas using a forklift or pallet jack
Maintain cleanliness of walls, vents, doors, drains, and garbage cans
Collaborate with multiple departments to meet sanitation needs
Organize air and water hoses
Rinse out all empty drums
Help maintain chemical storage area
Operate and maintain floor scrubbers
Assist with housekeeping duties as needed
Perform any other duties assigned
Qualifications
Must be at least 18 years old
Must be able to push or pull heavy equipment
Must obtain and operate a forklift license
Demonstrate excellent work habits in line with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
Demonstrate safe working habits
Lift in excess of 30 pounds frequently
Possess general knowledge of machine operation
Use creative thinking for troubleshooting
Work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment
Show good human‑relations skills and be a team player
Work any shift, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours
Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality
Assist other team members in other areas
Perform steady, productive work for an extended period of time
Work efficiently with little or no supervision
Follow detailed written and verbal instructions
Communicate effectively
Show enthusiasm, initiative, and pride in work

Year End Bonus To reward associates for their contributions to the company for the calendar year, Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in November. In the first year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to 15 hours of pay; in the second year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to one week’s pay if the associate remains employed through the issue date of the bonus check; in subsequent years, the bonus is equal to two weeks’ pay.
