Job Summary The Assistant Director of Freshman Recruitment implements Augusta University’s freshman recruitment plan to recruit, admit, and enroll new first‑year students.
This position supervises multiple Admissions Counselors, manages an assigned territory, and meets enrollment targets.
Responsibilities
Manage a specific recruitment territory and meet recruitment goals using data to plan efforts.
Schedule, coordinate, and conduct high school visits, speaking engagements, college fairs, and recruitment events.
Coordinate relationships with school counselors and other constituents, and communicate with prospective students and families via email, phone, social media, and in‑person meetings.
Supervise, assign tasks, and provide support and guidance for Admissions Counselors.
Teach staff to use data and trends for recruitment planning and to analyze applicant reports.
Create and implement recruitment tactics and event programming for special populations.
Assist in communications to prospective students, including electronic communications through Slate CRM.
Serve on institutional and divisional committees.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Master’s degree from an accredited college or university and one year of experience in admissions, higher education, or related field, OR Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and two years of experience in the same areas.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree with related experience in student affairs, higher education, or related field.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Proficient in Microsoft Office and related software/databases.
Understanding of emerging and best practices in recruitment and admission.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Strong prioritization, organizational, and project management skills.
Event planning skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to lead a team and analyze complex admission and enrollment data.
Ability to respond to sensitive inquiries and challenging situations.
Commitment to a student‑centered residential campus environment through collaborative teamwork.
Shift and Compensation Shift: Days; Monday‑Friday (outside standard business hours may be required) Pay Band: B10 Salary: $52,500 – $54,600 annually.
