Housing Associate

The Housing Associate role provides support to the Housing office and to the Housing Supervisor by completing daily tasks such as answering phones, responding to emails, and serving guests that come to the front desk. They will aid in overseeing the process of turning an apartment from vacating resident to new resident, keep Southern Seminary's housing units in prime living condition, and create initiatives to improve the on-campus experience of current residents and guests. This position will also provide customer service to both residents and housing applicants as well as hotel guests. The employee in this position will have the following essential job functions: Keep Southern Seminary's housing units in prime living condition Communicate to residents all move-out procedures Evaluate the damages required for returning the apartment to its pre-resident condition Communicate with prospective and current residents concerning rates, availability and status Participate in daily activities of the Student Housing Office including answering phones, responding to walk up questions and requests, taking maintenance requests, conducting lease signings and check-outs, answering emails, opening and closing the office Process housing applications and confirmations Communicate between the various companies and on campus departments needed to get the apartment ready Escorts contractors throughout campus Contact appropriate companies for various maintenance tasks Hold all contracted companies to a high and consistent standard Conduct thorough inspections of apartments and dorms Create work orders Maintain consistent communication with Facilities regarding work requests and pending maintenance to dorms and apartments Maintain housing documents Occasionally help move dorm furniture and loft beds as needed Provides front desk support to the Legacy Hotel Performs other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor. The person in this position should have some college completed. The person in this position will work in the Legacy Hotel. It is a busy office environment, particularly when classes are not in session. The person will also be walking to various apartment buildings on campus and may be asked to assist in moving furniture. The person in this position will supervise no one. The person in this position will report to the Student Housing Supervisor. The person in this position will work in a variety of settings including but not limited to an office environment, apartments, dormitories, suites, and any other portion of the property managed by Student Housing (i.e. basements, laundry facilities, storage lockers, etc.). The person in this position will use the following equipment: Microsoft Office, Google Drive, various cleaning supplies, hand trucks/dollies, email, calendar, and housing related software.
