Job Description
The Human Resources Specialist (Tier 2) supports employees, managers, and HR partners by handling escalated HR inquiries and resolving complex issues related to HR systems, policies, and processes. This role requires strong analytical skills, deep knowledge of HR systems, and a commitment to delivering accurate, timely, and high-quality service across the employee lifecycle.
Responsibilities
Respond to escalated HR inquiries from employees, managers, and HR partners in a timely and professional manner.
Provide accurate guidance on HR policies, procedures, and self-service tools to support informed decision‑making.
Process and manage HR transactions across the employee lifecycle, including data changes, policy clarifications, and other HR operations activities.
Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date employee records and documentation in HR systems.
Analyze and resolve complex HR issues by applying HR policy, regulatory requirements, and systems knowledge.
Escalate issues to leadership when appropriate and provide clear, value‑added insights and recommendations.
Ensure data integrity across key HR areas such as position management, performance, compensation, and benefits.
Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and the overall HR customer experience.
Support HR Operations projects and cross‑functional initiatives as needed to advance HR goals and service delivery.
Other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills Needed
Minimum of 2 years of experience in Human Resources systems or HR Operations.
Bachelor’s degree.
Experience in human resources, including HR administration and human resource management.
Hands‑on experience with HR systems and HR data entry.
Strong employee relations and administrative support experience.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
High attention to detail with strong follow‑through.
Ability to analyze and resolve complex HR issues using HR policies, data, and system tools.
Qualifications
Experience supporting escalated HR inquiries from multiple stakeholder groups.
Familiarity with position management, performance, compensation, and benefits processes.
Experience contributing to process improvement and HR operations projects.
Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, service‑oriented HR environment.
Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Boston, MA.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $50.00/hr.
