Who is VMRC? VMRC is a Christ-centered, nonprofit continuing care retirement community offering independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, and memory care for older adults. Job Qualifications
Assists physical therapists in providing physical therapy treatments and procedures.
Licenses/Certifications: Current Physical Therapy Assistant state license; CPR certification
Education: Graduate of an accredited therapy program
Requirements
Works effectively to comply with policies of all VMRC areas. Works collaboratively with team members to meet resident needs across the VMRC campus.
Effectively works with other members of the VMRC team to provide in-services and education to meet individual resident/patient needs according to standard, regulations, gaps in service delivery and initiatives.
Provides services under the direction of licensed physical therapist.
Contributes to a physical therapist’s effectiveness by identifying patient care issues.
Administers treatment programs for residents and patients.
Documents patient care services according to approved medical documentation and facility documentation procedures.
Performs therapeutic procedures by administering manual exercises and instructing, encouraging, and assisting patients in performing physical activities, such as non-manual exercises, ambulatory functional activities, and daily living activities.
Helps patients in using supportive devices, such as crutches, canes, and prostheses.
Instructs and counsels patients by describing therapeutic regimens, giving normal growth and development information, and promoting wellness and health maintenance.
