Automation Specialist 1 will work closely with senior Automation Specialists / mentor and others to become familiar with company values, projects, equipment and controls system design through hands-on opportunities, training, and observation. It is expected that an Automation Specialist 1 can apply knowledge and skill from school, experience or other required training. Expect to travel up to 20% or more as situations require. Candidates for this position may be required to pass pre-employment and periodic screenings, including background checks, drug and alcohol tests, or other necessary assessments. Some Of The Work You Will Do
Work under the supervision of a senior Automation Specialist and be able to: Contributes to project emulation, testing, commissioning, project closure and inspections/reporting. Configure the PLC/HMI hardware to effectively communicate. Regularly report progress on tasks and projects assigned. Participates in the following project tasks: Project Book Programming / Configuration Emulation Control System Test FAT Support Commissioning Support Project closure and inspections/reporting Contributes to compliance and quality of projects. Manages time and expenses. Other duties as assigned / requested. Demonstrates self-motivation in learning processes. Demonstrates sufficient communication skills Here Are The Skills That You Need
Education: Associate Degree or higher in Electrical Automation, Robotic Technology, or related field OR two or more years of experience in a programming, logic, and controls or a similar position. Experience: Generally no prior related experience needed. Demonstrates interest and ability in computer programming or other similar technical systems. Assist in solving problems logically. Valid Driver's license and clean driving record to drive on any company related business or travel. Fluent in verbal and written English. Comply with all safety regulations. Travel is required. Experience and/or knowledge process field instrumentation. Experience and/or knowledge of any globally recognized Automation, Systems, or Instrumentation organization is a plus. Physical Requirements
Must be able to work at desk computer/phone system. Some lifting may be involved (up to 50 lbs.) Regularly required to move around the facility. When at job sites or fabrication shops, will be required to inspect equipment. This may involve: Bending, stooping, walking on ladders, walkways/catwalks (may involve heights). May involve being in a safety harness. Exposure to elements: cold, heat, wet, and/or dark. May involve utilizing hands and being around mechanical parts. May be required to be clean shaven and fit tested for proper respiratory equipment. Benefits And Perks We Offer
