Business Development Leader
Pipeline Design & Engineering, LLC, Tempe, AZ, United States
We solve complex manufacturing problems — advanced processes, automation, custom fixtures, product development. We help OEMs build products that are hard to manufacture. We move fast. We solve problems other teams can’t.
But that’s only part of the story.
Pipeline is also a community builder.
We host PDX — an engineering expo built to teach, not pitch.
We produce the Being An Engineer podcast.
We run CAD Club for the next generation.
We built The Wave, host meetups, run webinars — and actively invest in the profession.
We’re not just building machines.
We’re building engineers, culture, and something that matters.
We need someone who feels that — and wants to carry it forward.
The Mission
We’re hiring a relationship-first Business Development leader.
Not a transactional seller.
Your role is to represent Pipeline in the world — building authentic relationships with engineering leaders and manufacturing teams, spotting patterns, connecting dots, and turning trust into meaningful partnerships.
What Makes This Different
You won’t sell from a script.
You’ll tell a real story about a team doing meaningful work.
You’ll leverage tools most BD professionals don’t have — a national podcast, an engineering expo, a youth mentorship program, a growing online community, and a culture people genuinely admire.
Travel
Frequent travel within the Phoenix metro area
A few days per month out of state
Phoenix-based preferred, but we’ll consider the right fit elsewhere.
Who You Are
You’re energized by people.
You leave conversations feeling more alive than when you entered them.
You can engage engineers confidently — not necessarily as one of them, but with enough technical fluency to earn respect and spot opportunity.
You care more about long‑term relationships than short‑term wins.
You’re not just looking for a job — you’re looking for a place to belong and a mission you can stand behind.
You sense where organizations are stuck.
You know how to open doors.
And ideally, you already feel that something special is happening at Pipeline.
Why This Role Matters
Pipeline has built something rare.
A high‑performing engineering team.
A reputation for solving difficult problems.
A platform that extends far beyond our size.
But stories like this don’t spread on their own.
They spread through people.
If you’ve ever thought, “This company deserves to be known,” this may be your calling.
How to Reach Us
If this role resonates with you, don’t just send a résumé.
And don’t just click “Apply.”
This is a relationship‑building role.
So build a relationship.
Get creative.
Use a connection to request an introduction.
Send a thoughtful note that shows you understand who we are.
Leverage something in our ecosystem — PDX, the podcast, The Wave, CAD Club, a meetup — and start a real conversation.
Show us how you would do the job.
We’re less interested in a perfectly formatted résumé and more interested in how you think, how you connect, and how you create opportunity.
If you’re right for this role, you’ll know how to get our attention.
