Qualifications & Skills
Project management capabilities with experience in creating project schedules and operating within that timeline
Ability to work as a member of a team with a variety of personality types and in different roles
Strong customer experience and service
Ability to communicate information and ideas in writing, orally or through drawing in AutoCad: elevations, details, test fit, etc.
Knowledge of design principles, aesthetics and general knowledge of budget tiers
Ability to effectively design, gain alignment and successfully execute significant transformation change initiatives from project start to finish
Support client communications
2–3 years’ experience working on commercial interior design projects, corporate interiors experience through A/E environment or furniture dealer/manufacturer
Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design a plus
Fluent in AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent communication and management skills
Enthusiasm for learning new skills, computer programs and interest in refining process efficiencies
Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence and work collaboratively across departments and with external partners
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment
Entrepreneurial attitude – must be self‑motivated, self‑managed and able to multi‑task and organize several projects at a given time
Ability to work within the framework of an established process and pivot when necessary
Capable of operating within a standard framework of design while being aware of lead time and budget constraints and responding accordingly
Competency in applying creative thinking when needing to adapt outside of standards
Seeks out and responds well to feedback and direction from others
Ability to work independently and within the fabric of a design team
Responsibilities
The role of the Design Associate Manager is to assist with, support and help drive the planning and execution of transformation of the on-site Design Lab
Help create and ensure the project plan, scope, and schedule are maintained by all the parties involved (e.g., consultants, engineers, architects, furniture manufacturers, etc.)
Conduct project meetings (including taking and sharing minutes), track deliverables assigned in meetings, and coordinate project updates/reports to all stakeholders
Support client communications – create leadership presentations, experience questionnaire and actively participate in feedback sessions
Oversee design phases including test fits, schematic design, and design development, ensuring alignment with corporate standards and sustainability initiatives
Leverage existing Workplace Guidelines, governance, policies, planning metrics, principles, best practices and lessons learned to provide appropriate implementation strategies and solutions for the project
Provide guidance in space planning, interior design and furniture selection, ensuring the workplace environment fosters productivity, employee well‑being and innovation while aligning with client’s design standards
Coordinate with project managers, facility managers and vendors to ensure design intent is maintained
Stay current with industry trends and best practices in workplace design, applying innovative solutions to meet evolving needs
Understanding of client’s standard furniture configurations, finishes, use applications and be able to provide written, verbal and visual communication/direction to teams
Review plans for client planning metrics, standard space configurations and inclusivity requirements above and beyond basic building code requirements
Understanding of client’s existing contracts and vendor relationships for furniture, finishes and architectural elements and ability to navigate exceptions and circumstances of when using non‑standardized products
Managing multiple signage package reviews over several regions and being able to manage tight timelines
Expect limited travel (15%) to project sites as required
