OpenAI, Los Angeles, CA, United States
At OpenAI, we’re here to do something extraordinary: build safe AGI that benefits everyone. That mission demands people who are not just brilliant but also deeply aligned with our values. Our Recruiting team is the gateway connecting exceptional humans to meaningful, high-impact work. We’re a close-knit, mission-driven crew that takes pride in thoughtful, relationship-first hiring. We partner deeply with teams across OpenAI to find, engage, and support the people who will shape the future of AI.
Our Go-to-Market (GTM) team is scaling rapidly to bring OpenAI’s products to customers and partners around the world. GTM hiring at OpenAI focuses on building a world-class team across Sales, Customer Success, Partnerships, and Technical Solutions.
About this Role We’re looking for an experienced GTM Recruiter to help build some of the most critical teams at OpenAI across Technical Success, User Operations, Revenue Operations, and Sales.
Your Responsibilities
Own end-to-end hiring for GTM roles, from scoping and calibration through to offer and close.
Partner closely with senior business leaders to deeply understand team needs, define hiring strategies, and translate business priorities into actionable talent plans.
Build and execute proactive, data-informed sourcing strategies to attract high-calibre and diverse talent across competitive markets.
Act as a trusted advisor to hiring managers, driving alignment, challenging assumptions, and maintaining a consistently high hiring bar.
Deliver an exceptional candidate experience, ensuring every interaction reflects OpenAI’s values and mission.
Navigate complex, global hiring environments by partnering with People, Legal, and Compensation to ensure consistency, fairness, and compliance.
Continuously improve recruiting processes, identifying bottlenecks and implementing scalable solutions to increase quality and velocity.
Bring market intelligence and insights to stakeholders, influencing hiring decisions and shaping talent strategy.
Qualifications
7+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, ideally in-house at high-growth or high-bar environments.
Proven track record of hiring for GTM functions (e.g., Sales, Technical Success, RevOps, Partnerships, User Ops).
Strong talent judgment, with the ability to assess both experience and potential and consistently raise the bar.
Comfortable operating as a strategic partner, influencing senior stakeholders and navigating ambiguity.
Highly execution-oriented, with the ability to run multiple complex searches simultaneously without sacrificing quality.
Skilled in building pipelines from scratch, especially in competitive or emerging talent markets.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience working across regions and cultures.
Data-informed and structured in your approach, using insights to guide decisions and improve outcomes.
Experience with modern recruiting tools (e.g., Ashby, LinkedIn Recruiter) and a mindset for leveraging new technologies.
We are an equal opportunity employer, and we do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, veteran status, disability, genetic information, or other applicable legally protected characteristic.
Background checks for applicants will be administered in accordance with applicable law, and qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records will be considered for employment consistent with those laws, including the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, the Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers, and the California Fair Chance Act, for US-based candidates. For unincorporated Los Angeles County workers, we reasonably believe that criminal history may have a direct, adverse and negative relationship with the following job duties, potentially resulting in the withdrawal of a conditional offer of employment: protect computer hardware entrusted to you from theft, loss or damage; return all computer hardware in your possession (including the data contained therein) upon termination of employment or end of assignment; and maintain the confidentiality of proprietary, confidential, and non-public information. In addition, job duties require access to secure and protected information technology systems and related data security obligations.
