Position : Electrical Engineer – Venue Sector
Location : Lenexa, Kansas (Remote work available)
Summary Electrical Engineers and Electrical Designers will design, coordinate, document, and deliver electrical building systems for venues such as airports, convention centers, theatres, concert venues, recreation centers, gyms, sports arenas, stadiums, and training facilities. Responsibilities include engineering calculations, design document review, project coordination, task or project management, technical leadership, mentorship, and business development support.
Position Summary Responsible for guiding complex electrical engineering efforts. This role provides advanced technical expertise, leads discipline teams, oversees project quality, mentors designers and engineers, resolves major design and construction challenges, and contributes to practice-level strategy, operations, and business development.
Key Responsibilities
Lead electrical engineering design from concept through completion for complex or large‑scale projects.
Direct or oversee the preparation of design documents, system layouts, detailed drawings, schematics, and specifications.
Develop solutions to advanced and highly complex engineering problems, providing discipline‑wide technical guidance.
Serve as a mentor and coach across teams and practices, including supervising less experienced designers and engineers.
Participate in or lead staffing recommendations, training initiatives, and technical strategy development.
Provide quality oversight, including conducting and/or issuing final quality reviews to ensure compliance with standards and best practices.
Communicate with clients, resolve conflicts, and provide leadership in responding to technical questions or design challenges.
Lead or support strategic business development efforts and maintain key client and partner relationships.
Serve as Engineer of Record when assigned, ensuring technical accuracy, accountability, and adherence to professional standards.

Key Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field (electrical, mechanical, fire protection, or architectural).
9+ years of relevant experience.
Additional technical certifications (e.g., RCDD, NICET, CPD, LEED, WELL) highly preferred.
Advanced to expert proficiency in electrical engineering design, applicable codes and standards, Revit, Bluebeam, and construction processes.
Demonstrated ability to lead discipline coordination and manage complex or large‑scale project scopes.
MEP/Construction Industry experience.
High technical aptitude: ability to learn, understand and utilize various systems and processes.
Effective critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and engineering design software applicable to your discipline or focus.
Clear communication and willingness to ask questions.
Accountability, reliability, and ethical behavior.
