Position Overview The Senior Director of Business Development & Growth is responsible for identifying, developing, and securing new earned revenue and partnership opportunities that strengthen Lifelong’s long‑term financial sustainability and impact. This role owns the execution of the organization’s business development and growth strategy, implementing the CEO’s strategic direction in partnership with the Chief of Staff and translating Lifelong’s services into sustainable contracts, collaborations, and earned revenue. The position manages the full lifecycle of growth initiatives, from opportunity identification and financial analysis through negotiation, launch, and ongoing performance management. Reporting to the Chief of Staff, the Senior Director of Business Development & Growth works closely with the CEO, Executive Leadership Team, program leaders, and external partners to expand existing programs, develop new service models, and diversify revenue.

This regular, full‑time, exempt, non‑union role is based in the Georgetown neighborhood of Seattle, with onsite presence required at least three days per week (Tuesday‑Thursday).

Business Development and Revenue Growth

Identify, cultivate, and secure new revenue‑generating partnerships, contracts, and service agreements with public agencies, healthcare systems, payers, and community partners.

Build and manage a pipeline of prospective opportunities, proposals, renewals, and expansions.

Lead contract negotiations, pricing discussions, and partnership structures in collaboration with Finance, Legal, and the Executive Leadership Team.

Develop earned revenue strategies for core programs.

Track and report on growth metrics, revenue targets, and return on investment.

Opportunity Identification & Market Analysis

Monitor policy, funding, and market trends to identify emerging opportunities for sustainable growth.

Assess community needs, market and partner demand, and the competitive landscape to inform opportunity selection.

Proactively generate and test new revenue and partnership concepts aligned with Lifelong’s mission.

Develop financial projections, cost analyses, and sustainability models for proposed initiatives.

Evaluate staffing, operational capacity, and compliance requirements associated with new opportunities.

Prepare business cases and executive recommendations in close partnership with program leaders, the Chief of Staff, the CEO, and the Executive Leadership Team.

Partnership Development & External Relations

Represent Lifelong in growth‑related discussions with funders, agencies, health systems, market partners, and other strategic partners, in coordination with the Executive Leadership Team.

Build long‑term, trust‑based relationships that support multi‑year revenue and program growth.

Support due diligence for complex partnerships, collaborations, and potential mergers or acquisitions.

Launch & Performance Management

Lead transition of approved initiatives into implementation in partnership with program and project management teams.

Support and monitor financial and operational performance following launch.

Establish performance indicators and conduct regular reviews to ensure sustainability and quality.

Identify risks and recommend corrective actions as needed.

Internal Alignment & Leadership

Partner with program leaders to align growth initiatives with service capacity and quality standards.

Collaborate closely with the Chief of Staff, CEO, Executive Leadership Team, program leaders, and cross‑functional teams to ensure aligned and integrated execution.

Contribute to organizational planning and resource allocation discussions.

Facilitate structured cross‑functional conversations to advance opportunities from concept to approval.

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in business, public health, nonprofit management, finance, or a related field, or combination of related education and work experience

Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in business development, partnerships, revenue growth, healthcare contracting, nonprofit enterprise, or related fields

Demonstrated experience securing and managing revenue‑generating agreements

Experience working with public agencies, healthcare systems, or social service networks strongly preferred

Proven ability to build and manage opportunity pipelines and close complex deals

Experience collaborating with senior leadership and cross‑functional teams

This position operates in a professional office environment and requires extended periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Occasional standing, walking, and light lifting of up to 20 pounds may be required to support office or event needs. The role may also involve occasional attendance at events or activities that take place outside of normal office settings or standard business hours.
