Business Advisory Principal – Valuation, Financial Forensics, Litigation (VFL)

Summary of Job Function At LGA, our primary focus is on our people. As a Principal in LGA's BAS service line, you will play an integral role in driving the continued growth of our dynamic firm. This is a leadership position for a highly experienced BAS professional who is passionate about client impact, thrives on building trusted client relationships, and is committed to developing and mentoring the team.

Essential Job Duties

Commitment to understand and advance engagements within valuation, financial forensics and quality of earnings advisory services.

Acts as the firm's preeminent resource in specific technical areas

Provides advice and council to clients, partners, and staff

Manages client expectations, develop solutions, and champions the implementation of client needs and ideas

Consistently meets client deadlines timely and adheres to delivering specific client scopes

Identifies and recommends additional services that would be beneficial to clients

Provides exceptional customer service, ensuring client understands services, processes, etc.

Provides high-level oversight of work performed on clients

Provides technical support to generate leads, contacts, and revenue

Continues to develop and maintain contact with existing clients

Attends Leadership meetings as needed and provide input on firm initiatives, strategies, etc.

Adheres to applicable laws, financial regulations and industry standards

Is a technical resource for partners and staff to resolve issues within practice segments and/or industry specialization(s); resolves issues and risks with client senior management. Considers a broad range of perspectives when developing new approaches or solutions

Demonstrates innovation and creativity to maximize efficiency and effectiveness on complex engagements; effectively executes plan; proactively updates partner on progress (good and bad), delivers issues with recommendations

Is becoming an expert in broader products and services and is recognized by others as a source for solutions; requires little or no partner involvement

Proactively identifies and communicates issues to clients, provides value added advice; is viewed as a qualitative and quantitative resource for partners and staff to resolve issues within practice segments and/or industry specialization(s)

Identifies best practices in utilizing the Firm's technology platform, keeps abreast of advanced & new technologies, to enhance engagement profitability and client service

Ensures overall quality in Firm procedures and in applying professional standards

Commitment to master all BAS products and services vs. specializing in a given subset

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Marketing, Finance, or a related field

Master's degree in Accountancy, Marketing, Finance or a plan to pursue preferred

One or more of the following credentials: certified public accountant (CPA), certified valuation analyst (CVA), accredited in business valuation (ABV), chartered financial analyst (CFA), certified business appraiser (CBA), accredited senior appraiser (ASA), certified divorce financial analyst (CDFA) CPA, CVA, ABV, CBA, or ASA certification is required 10+ years' of recent experience in a related field, with a proven ability to lead and develop client relationships.

Required Qualifications

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).

Experience with the CCH Suite of Products (ProSystem fx Tax, Engagement, Document, Portal) is a plus.

Ability to oversee and troubleshoot BAS software issues, ensuring the firm maximizes efficiency through technology.

Comfortable working in a technology-driven, paperless environment.

Strong organizational skills, detail oriented, and able to manage multiple deadlines.

Ability to work with a sense of urgency and be flexible in tasks and time while managing your workload with adjustments to your schedule especially during peak workload times in the service line.

Demonstrated skill in reviewing work prepared by junior team members, identifying errors, and ensuring compliance.

Coaches and mentors senior managers, managers, and junior staff to ensure talent development.

Recognized as a technical resource and thought leader, providing guidance on complex BAS matters.

Excellent attention to detail with the ability to think outside the box

Must have an understanding of corporate and personal income tax regulations

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Actively involved in bringing in new business and expanding existing client relationships.

Acts as a culture carrier, ensuring alignment with the firm's vision and values.

Respect for compliance and confidentiality.

The compensation range for this position is $140,000 – $230,000 annually. Actual pay will depend on various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's qualifications, skills, experience, and relevant certifications.

This job is performed in an office setting, indoors, and at times travel to one of the other firm locations is required.

Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other machines.

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines and support the team during traditional peak seasons.
