Kids Science Labs (www.kidssciencelabs.com), one of the world leaders in hands‑on science education, is seeking to hire a General Manager for our beautiful store in Greenlake. A successful candidate enjoys being around kids, engaging customers with a warm smile, and is available to manage both our birthday party experiences and camp experiences, which operate throughout the year.
Kids Science Labs offers summer camps, day‑off camps, birthday party experiences, and hands‑on science classes/events throughout the year to students ages 4‑12 and their families. Founded in 2010, the Company operates locations in Chicago and Seattle. Our general manager will oversee center operations and ensure parents and children have a wonderful experience from the time they enter the center. In your role, you will be responsible for managing the summer camp experience for guests, managing the staff schedule to achieve key business objectives, training new staff in the birthday party experience, and ensuring the center operates smoothly throughout the week.
During the summers, you will lead the delivery of our summer camp experience, managing a staff of up to six teachers to support the outstanding delivery of our award‑winning program. During the rest of the academic year, your role will include managing our at‑school STEM business development and center operations for all STEM programs. It is important to note that the role requires the desire and ability to successfully manage partnerships and develop relationships with schools and community partners. Successful leaders must be seeking to offer and be accountable for five‑star customer experiences to our students, families, and their guests. They also must be seeking a leadership position that requires the ability to manage.

Requirements
BS/BA degree (preferably in communication, business, science, education or organizational psychology)
High level of organization, ability to prioritize, and be proactive in seeing and solving problems
Strong decision‑making skills
Previous experience delivering exceptional service and managing small teams in retail environments
Ability to adapt and operate in a dynamic environment
Must have the ability to offer excellent training to staff
Ability to manage schedules and resolve team conflict
Desire to manage scheduling and delivery of programs both in‑center and for our off‑site summer camps at multiple locations
Enjoy working with teams and delivering outstanding experiences to families
We encourage sales managers, retail managers, customer service managers, and center directors to apply for this role
This role is full time, and will include management of staff schedules, school partnerships, and delivering on all key performance indicators to grow the center profitably
