
Landscape Designer | Estimator

Pay: $65,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
Job Overview ADLA Studio is seeking a highly capable Landscape Designer with a strong foundation in technical detailing, project estimating, and production design to join our growing design-build team.
This role goes beyond conceptual design. We are looking for someone who can translate vision into buildable, well-documented, and accurately estimated work, supporting projects from early concept through construction execution.
Key Responsibilities
Develop design concepts and carry them through full production drawing sets , including plans, sections, and construction details
Produce technical design documentation including hardscape detailing, grading strategies, planting plans, lighting plans, and irrigation layouts
Prepare accurate project estimates and takeoffs , including material quantities, labor considerations, and cost forecasting
Translate design intent into buildable solutions , coordinating closely with internal construction teams and subcontractors
Generate and manage construction documentation ,including estimates, change orders, and contracts via LMN, Dropbox and DocuSign
Participate in value engineering and scope alignment , ensuring projects stay within budget while maintaining design integrity
Conduct site analysis and develop responsive design solutions based on grading, drainage, and environmental conditions
Collaborate with clients, architects, and engineers to align design vision with technical execution
Support the construction phase by answering RFIs, adjusting drawings, and ensuring fidelity between design and build
Contribute to ongoing refinement of ADLA’s production standards, detailing library, and estimating systems
Technical & Production Skills (Critical)
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Rhino
with the ability to produce detailed, accurate construction drawings
Solid understanding of materials, methods, and sequencing
in landscape construction
Experience with project estimating, takeoffs, and budget alignment
Familiarity with grading and drainage strategies
Ability to think through constructability in real-world conditions , not just design intent
Software Proficiency
LMN (or similar CRM/estimating software)
Experience & Qualifications
3+ years of experience in landscape design, architecture, or design-build practice
Degree in Landscape Architecture, Architecture, or related field
Demonstrated experience moving projects from concept through construction documentation and execution
Strong portfolio showing both design thinking and technical resolution
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
