Account Manager
Responsible to implement, service, and retain the existing groups in New Mexico. Acts as a liaison between Delta Dental and agents, consultants, and brokers to ensure program administration and retention. Reporting: Director of Sales and Account Management The following are upheld by the Account Manager: Role model and live the company values and behaviors. Know the company vision, mission, and objectives and continually communicate and reinforce these to fellow Team Members. Meet specified objectives related to the services provided to, and renewals of, assigned group clients, generally groups with over 2-50 Subscribers. Support the department's client acquisition, client satisfaction and retention, subscriber enrollment goals, and oral health initiatives for non-assigned groups as requested. Build and support relationships within the broker community and publicly represent the company and its values. Ensure that all service needs are met for Delta Dental's accounts, resolution of issues. Act in a consultative role to provide ongoing training and education to their clients, consultants/agents on market updates, benefit designs, and cost savings options. Build and maintain relationships with key individuals throughout their client and broker/agent community to ensure retention of current client base. Develop and maintain contact with key individuals in the market. This includes individual calls, benefit conferences, and special events. Organize, prepare, and carry out activities related to renewals including plan design, renewal presentation, rate negotiations, and working effectively with the underwriting team. Develop, review, and present data to group benefits departments to show value of Delta Dental through dental benefits, cost savings, and other markers important to the client. Maintain files and/or databases as required by department policies and procedures. Document client activities. Participate in business and professional organizations to develop relationships and improve knowledge. Support contractually required or client requested data requirements by ordering, reviewing, tracking and/or preparing for delivery custom or standard reports; includes client-specific satisfaction surveys when applicable. Support in a lead role the development, production, distribution, and inventory control of collateral material for marketing, advertising, and member materials e.g., generic Dental Benefit Handbooks, Summaries of Benefits, brochures, newsletters, broker event materials, open enrollment handouts, ads and flyers etc. Adhere to departmental and corporate policies and procedures, serve internal customers, and support the goals of other departments and the company. Perform other related assigned duties as necessary to complete the Primary Job Responsibilities described above. Foster, encourage, and reward a fun, positive, successful, values-based culture! The following are required of the Account Manager: Meet all deadlines associated with broker/client inquiries, and reporting. Maintain a 96% or better retention rate. Develop and maintain relationships with key brokers, and plan administrators through in-person meetings, proactive outreach, and education. Minimum requirement of three (3) proactive outreach touchpoints per week, not directly associated with a renewal, i.e., email relevant article, information, update, newsletter; etc.; or meet directly with, or call broker, consultant or plan administrator. All calls and in person meetings require a stated purpose. The following are expected of the Account Manager: Values-based, high performance minded Team Member; Must have state health insurance license (or must obtain one within three months of employment); Valid New Mexico driver's license and proof of insurance that meets or exceeds statutory requirements required; Must be flexible to maintain a work schedule that can occasionally begin prior to 8:00AM and/or end after 5:00PM and/or can exceed 40 hours a week, when necessary; Proficient computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft applications, and other database software applications; Skilled communicator, with effective verbal, written, presentation, and listening skills; Ability to analyze and resolve complex problems, and ability to use independent judgment and demonstrated attention to detail; Ability to manage multiple processes and projects within time and budget parameters as well as demonstrated proactive customer outreach; In-state travel is required to maintain broker relationships. Occasional out-of-state travel may be required; Must have ability and willingness to lift up to 30 pounds; Able to work in the office during regular business working hours; Able to work in an open office environment; Legally authorized to work in the United States; Successfully pass a 7-year background check and drug test. Position requires minimum of three years' experience in insurance sales, account management and service of group accounts, intermediate to advanced knowledge of service in the health care industry, preferably in the group benefits/insurance field. Bachelor's degree required with an emphasis in business, marketing, or communications. Will accept a suitable combination of education, training, and experience.
