SCN Crew Chief 10/28/2025 Purpose of the role MHIRJ’s network of service centers, support offices and parts depots are positioned in important aviation hubs in the U.S. The Crew Chief in conjunction with the Supervisor will oversee and/or perform daily activities for an assigned functional area of MHIRJ Aviation, leading a team of aircraft maintenance technicians including certificated and/or non‑certificated technicians.

Daily responsibilities

Coordinate workload requirements with Supervisors.

Plan, direct, layout and coordinate the activities of the assigned Maintenance Department to minimize delays and increase production and efficiency.

The Crew Chief is a working member of the maintenance group and is directly responsible to the Maintenance Supervisor.

Maintain the work areas, building, ground support equipment and materials that are utilized for aircraft maintenance in safe, clean, and operable condition.

Conduct Team Meetings with Supervisor.

Oversee employee activities and document as required.

Communicate aircraft discrepancies with Supervisors, customer representatives, and employees.

Provide technical guidance/expertise in the functional area up to and including using complex manuals and blueprints.

Mentor, train, and provide performance feedback.

Provide input on disciplinary actions, performance management programs and selection process.

Comply with environmental health and safety policies/procedures.

Participate in 5‑S activities.

Provide input on accident investigation and associated paperwork.

Monitor/ensure accurate data collection on employees in the assigned work area.

Monitor routine task cards and N/R budgets.

Estimate man‑hours and prepare time estimates.

Complete/approve all paperwork prior to turnover to QC/QA for final release.

Working outside may be required at times.

May be required to work on the aircraft to support the business needs.

Perform other duties as necessary to support the efficient operation of the department and company.

Qualifications

Minimum of two (2) years’ practical aircraft maintenance experience.

Possess an FAA A&P license or possess the “A” license.

Thorough knowledge in the functional area as evidenced through previous experience and skill.

Good organizational and communication skills.

Plan and organize tasks; prioritize, assign, and coordinate work.

Advanced knowledge of inspection/maintenance procedures in the functional area.

Advanced knowledge of pertinent reference materials.

Ability to work shift unsupervised within a prescribed framework of authority.

Engine run and taxi qualifications may be required.

Fuel farm qualifications may be required.

Enjoy working on commercial aircraft and growing professionally.

Basic PC (computer) skills.
