Responsibilities
As an HR Specialist, perform a wide variety of human resource activities tied to the employee life cycle.
Collaborate with leaders to streamline workflows, conduct audits, and deliver reports while supporting employee engagement and onboarding initiatives.
Serve as a trusted resource for confidential matters and uphold best practices across the distribution center.
Leave Administration: manage workers compensation documentation and follow-up, administer responses to LOA/accommodation requests, assist with benefits and open enrollment inquiries, and manage unemployment claims with tracking through resolution.
Data & Report Management: extract data from systems, create regular and on-demand reports, conduct HR file audits, process employee changes, and maintain data accuracy.
Ensuring Compliance: support post-accident and pre-employment screening, ensure timely I-9 reverification, and stay current with HR trends, regulations, and best practices to maintain regulatory compliance.
General HR Support: respond to policy, benefits, and payroll questions; assist with internal communications, recognition programs, and New Hire Orientation; support payroll processing and timekeeping inquiries; perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
2+ years of related HR experience, preferably in a distribution center or manufacturing facility.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS (e.g., Dayforce and SharePoint); ability to learn organization HRIS and talent management systems quickly.
Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality; thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, time management, and the ability to meet deadlines with limited supervision.
Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities; ability to prioritize and work independently.
Collaborative mindset and adaptability to a fast-paced environment; willingness to work flexible shifts and overtime as needed.
