Construction Estimator
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Estimator to join our team. The Construction Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for construction projects by analyzing project plans, specifications, and other documentation. This role requires strong analytical skills, knowledge of construction methods and materials, and the ability to collaborate with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to ensure competitive and accurate bids. Responsibilities Review architectural and engineering plans, specifications, and other project documents to understand scope, materials, and labor requirements. Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services, ensuring alignment with project budgets and timelines. Perform precise quantity takeoffs for materials and labor based on project drawings and specifications. Develop and submit competitive bids for projects, including detailed cost breakdowns and supporting documentation. Obtain and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure cost-effective solutions. Maintain and update a cost database with current pricing for materials, labor, and equipment. Identify potential risks and challenges in project execution and incorporate contingencies into estimates. Communicate with clients, architects, and project stakeholders to clarify project requirements and present estimates. Use estimating software (e.g., PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or ProEst) and Microsoft Office Suite to prepare and document estimates. Stay updated on industry trends, construction techniques, and material costs to enhance estimate accuracy. Essential Skills Proficiency in construction estimation and management. Experience with commercial construction and projects valued over $5 million. Familiarity with estimating tools such as Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, Sage, and ProEst. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in project analysis and bid preparation. Strong skills in vendor and subcontractor coordination. Ability to perform risk assessments and maintain cost databases. Excellent communication skills for client interaction. Work Environment The position is fully in-office at the Saratoga Springs location, operating Monday through Friday during the first shift. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Saratoga Springs, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $130000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
