Service Writer
A service writer greets customers, schedules appointments, creates work orders, and prepares estimates and invoices. They communicate with customers by answering the phone, calling with updates, taking payments, and road-testing vehicles with customers when needed, while also completing daily tie-outs. The role includes parts administration such as looking up and ordering parts, processing parts returns, and managing monthly parts invoices and statements, including fleet-related tasks in systems such as Auto Integrate, Element/Enterprise, SCFF, and Fleetio. Service writers coordinate with technicians by assisting with diagnostics and distributing work to techs, and they may perform light mechanical work during busy or short-staffed times. They may also respond to road calls or towing needs (including towing with a trailer), keep the parking lot organized, and maintain a Pennsylvania inspection and emissions license. Direct duties include: Greet Customers and Schedule Appts. Create work orders.
