
Area Sales Manager

Our client is seeking an Area Sales Manager to drive sales growth and build strong customer relationships across a defined territory. This is a technical B2B sales role focused on selling advanced machine tool solutions and supporting customers with innovative manufacturing equipment aligned to their operational requirements.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new business, managing existing accounts, identifying sales opportunities, and working closely with internal engineering and applications teams to deliver tailored customer solutions.
This is a high-travel role suited to someone who is commercially driven, technically credible, and confident engaging with manufacturing customers on the shop floor and at decision-maker level.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers
Promote and sell capital equipment and machine tool solutions into manufacturing environments
Provide technical sales support and consult with customers on equipment needs
Work closely with Applications Engineers and internal technical teams to recommend suitable solutions
Develop, present, and respond to proposals based on customer requirements
Visit customer sites regularly to review sales opportunities and resolve technical or service-related issues
Create territory plans and deliver weekly reporting on activity and pipeline
Submit expenses in line with company policy
Support demonstrations in partnership with engineering teams
Develop strategic and tactical plans to achieve annual sales targets
Travel extensively throughout the territory and internationally when required
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or technical discipline preferred
3 to 5 years of experience in B2B sales or business development
Experience selling into industrial or manufacturing environments preferred
Strong relationship-building and customer-facing skills
Ability to understand technical requirements and translate them into commercial solutions
Comfortable with extensive travel
Strong planning, reporting, and territory management skills

High travel role, approximately 80%
International travel may be required
Exposure to both office and manufacturing environments
