Product Designer, Tabletop

The pay range is $73,000.00 - $132,000.00. Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position, including labor markets, education, work experience and certifications.

As a Kitchen Designer, you will be responsible for owned brand kitchen hard‑good products, brands, and/or categories that achieve overall product design strategy and merchant objectives. Under the direction of Design leadership, you will lead kitchen product design and manage your own process and calendar. You will maintain a diligent approach to workload, including timely communication with internal and external partners. You’ll support and drive concepts throughout development, research, selection of materials/finishes, and the creation of silhouettes/form language. Using CAD and hand sketches, you’ll translate ideas for product direction and prepare professional presentation boards with illustrations, CAD artwork, and material samples. You’ll also support and drive product designs to maintain overall creative direction, merchant line plans, assortment strategies, and price points, building brand cohesion in partnership with peers across the division. In collaboration with technical designers/engineers and sourcing partners, you’ll identify, troubleshoot, and resolve product issues.

This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement, meaning the core role requires both onsite work at the Target HQ MN location and virtual work, depending on task requirements.

Team members must not work more than thirty (30) days per calendar year remotely from the following states: AL, AR, DE, FL, IN, IA, LA, MD, MS, MO, NC, OK, PA, SC, TN and VA.

Qualifications

Four‑year degree in Product Design or a related field, or equivalent experience.

At least 3 years of relevant experience in a product development environment.

Knowledge of home hard‑goods product trends, materials, and manufacturing.

Ability to respond to business objectives with creative, innovative, and cost‑effective design solutions.

Experience assimilating product feedback.

Computer design system skills including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.

Experience in CAD illustration or 2D/3D software.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Ability to build relationships to work successfully with internal and external teams.
