Position Objective The Manager, Real Estate role consists of working directly with the development team to identify, secure, and cultivate optimal greenfield sites to support our strategy, working with landowners, legal counsel, utilities, and others to develop consistent, bankable solar projects.

Responsibilities

Assisting with identification and acquisition of greenfield solar energy sites.

Supporting project development strategy creation in cooperation with development, engineering, and finance teams.

Managing outreach efforts to prospective landowner partners, including coordinating mailing campaigns, identifying contact information, and processing data within internal systems.

Developing relationships with key landowners and working with them through lease options.

Leading negotiation with landowners on key financial and commercial terms to achieve site control agreement execution.

Assisting with the clearance of challenging title issues and complex legal description issues, coordinating with legal counsel, title professionals, real estate team members, project developers, and landowners.

Providing support with recording legal documents.

Communicating the status of real estate matters to internal and external partners.

Traveling to project sites, county courthouses, and landowner residences as necessary to help in clearing real estate easement and title challenges.

Maintaining long term relationships with key landowner partners through multi-year development timelines.

Requirements

2+ years of experience working in renewable energy, real estate, sales, or law.

Experience in Microsoft Office/Office 365, Google Apps, Salesforce, and database management.

Knowledge of or background in the renewable energy industry is preferred but not required.

Excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills.

Organizational capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Proven ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable deliverables to internal and external stakeholders.

Self-motivated with proven ability to take ownership, initiative, and accountability.

Creative problem‑solving skills and ability to execute and deliver under pressure.

Demonstrated ability to build relationships and interface effectively with cross‑functional employee groups and external stakeholders.

Solid negotiating and problem‑solving skills with emphasis on attention to detail.

Practical experience dealing with solar project development, including site identification, real estate acquisition, land and title matters, permitting, interconnection, and community outreach.

Must have a “roll up your sleeves and let’s get the job done right” type attitude.

Demonstrated qualities of integrity, credibility, and professional responsibility.

Ability to travel and access sites of varying terrain. Position requires frequent travel, up to 1‑2 weeks per month or about 20% of working time; must carry an active driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Madison, WI Salary Range: $90,000 - $115,000

Bethesda, MD Salary Range: $100,000 - $130,000
