Primary Care Sales Consultant – Champaign, IL PURPOSE

Primary Care Sales Consultant is accountable for implementing sales strategies for Cardiorenal products and driving launch activities for an anticipated menopause launch. Responsibilities include driving demand, clinical education and sales by developing, coordinating and implementing a strategic business plan for Primary Care Physicians primarily in community settings.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Build and develop professional relationships with primary care and pharmacy staff within assigned customers.

Drive appropriate utilization of approved CV and menopause products; work closely with the Customer Squad to generate pull-through within local payers and community HCPs.

Leverage expertise and knowledge of diabetes and menopause marketplace, competitors, industry, and cross‑functional activities/plans to anticipate and manage business opportunities and challenges.

Provide strategic and tactical input to commercial colleagues in regard to territory, area, and region planning.

Develop and implement effective customer‑specific business plans and communicate insights to internal stakeholders.

Prioritize time and effort to ensure optimal coverage of appropriate physician specialists based on opportunity and potential.

Understand assigned customers’ product and business needs and work to meet those needs while adhering to Bayer company ethics and compliance standards.

Anticipate potential barriers to achieving goals and propose solutions for success.

Handle customer objections effectively and exceed expectations with value to physicians; occasionally provide training to others in the region.

Leverage and embrace emerging technologies to enhance performance, continuously improving proficiency.

Understand and comply with pharmaceutical industry guidelines, regulations and uphold high ethical standards.

WHO YOU ARE

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree or 10 years of relevant sales experience in competitive landscapes in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.

Proven track record of consistent high performance in a sales role or other relevant experience.

Proven track record in developing long‑standing relationships with customers.

Outstanding written and oral communication skills.

Demonstrated leadership and foster an environment that promotes ethical behavior and compliance with company policies and applicable laws.

Ability to comply with customer credentialing and safety requirements (e.g., up‑to‑date vaccinations, trainings).

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Advanced degree is a plus.

5 years of successful pharmaceutical/biotech/medical sales experience in competitive landscapes.

In‑depth knowledge of cardiovascular and/or diabetes and/or menopause disease states.

Product launch experience.

Strong analytical and computer capabilities.

Virtual sales experience.

Strong local relationships with HCPs and understanding of local market.

COMPENSATION

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $120,960.00 and $181,440.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc.

LOCATION

Champaign, IL – Residence based; coverage includes surrounding areas. Travel up to 50% within the territory.
