Overview The Community Engagement Professional cultivates relationships in the community through advocacy programs, community events, active engagement and strategic initiatives. The role requires independent decision‑making and interpretation of appropriate courses of action.

Responsibilities

Build visibility and credibility of Humana Healthy Horizons in the community through events, partnerships and C‑suite interactions.

Strategize methods to scale community engagement and drive greater connections to impact health outcomes and increase brand visibility.

Engage community members, nonprofits, FQHCs, faith‑based organizations and collaborate on advocacy programs.

Interpret public health and membership data to implement department strategy and company initiatives.

Provide high‑level customer service and ongoing engagement to nonprofit executives and partner organizations.

Make decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and receive guidance when needed.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree.

Experience in corporate social responsibility, community outreach, education and/or non‑profits.

Experience supporting Medicaid health plans and/or underserved populations.

Familiarity with Florida geography and culture, particularly the Panhandle and Northwest Florida.

Must reside in Leon County or within a 15‑mile radius of Leon County.

Preferred Qualifications

2+ years of experience in a community‑serving organization, healthcare or government program serving Medicaid beneficiaries or vulnerable populations.

Proficiency in administration and data management systems.

Knowledge of and ability to navigate community resources.

Strong knowledge of community‑based and faith‑based organization operating structures, social determinants of health and health equity.

Understanding of marketing, social media and public relations and their connection to a field‑based role.

Event, project and/or program management experience.

Location & Travel Requirements The position is a combination remote work at home and field‑based role requiring about 50‑75% local travel in surrounding Florida counties, with a primary focus on Leon, Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, Gulf and Gadsden counties.

Work Style / Hours Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern Time (40 hours per week).

50‑75% local travel to onsite locations attending events and community meetings.

Willingness to commute through surrounding counties.

Frequent evenings, weekends and occasional overnights as needed to meet business needs.

Driver’s License & Vehicle

Must have a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation and the ability to travel within the state of Florida as required.

Role is part of Humana’s Driver Safety Program and requires an individual to have a valid state driver’s license and proof of personal vehicle liability insurance with the state of Florida’s mandatory minimum limits.

Benefits Humana provides medical, dental and vision benefits, 401(k) retirement savings plan, time off (including paid time off, company and personal holidays, volunteer time off, paid parental and caregiver leave), short‑term and long‑term disability, life insurance and many other opportunities. The compensation range is $58,700 – $70,400 per year, with eligibility for a bonus incentive plan based on company and/or individual performance.
