Overview Utz Quality Foods is seeking a

VP, Sales Operations: West

to join our Sales team. The Vice President of Sales Operations leads sales teams in assigned geographies, creates and executes sales strategies, and ensures achievement of sales objectives in a sustainable and profitable manner. The role analyzes and prepares sales forecasts, attracts, retains and develops top talent, and maintains strong relationships with customers and Independent Operators/Distributors. The position aims to protect and grow market share, improve Direct Store Delivery (DSD) route capacity, and prioritize safety. Location options include Orange County/Los Angeles County, CA; Denver, CO; Phoenix, AZ; or San Leandro, CA.

Responsibilities

Develops and influences sales team members and partners at multiple levels.

Demonstrates effective leadership to Independent Operators/Distributors.

Creates, finalizes, and executes sales forecasts, strategies, and objectives in the assigned regions; develops contingency plans to achieve objectives.

Achieves all annual financial budgets (Salaries, T&E, warehouse labor).

Analyzes market data to evaluate market share, insights, and consumer trends to support growth.

Works with the Supply Chain team to optimize product mix in the warehouses and on store shelves.

Evaluates competitor sales activities to identify opportunities for Utz.

Leads the sales team in sourcing new accounts.

Develops and maintains excellent relationships with customer management and account personnel; makes required calls into chain/key headquarters accounts as assigned.

Represents Utz at tradeshows and other sales events as needed.

Creates, executes, and tracks promotional plans across retailers, ensuring accuracy and alignment with strategy.

Manages new product launches to ensure on-schedule distribution and timely shelf placement.

Analyzes sales results, prepares reports, and delivers presentations timely.

Communicates with the Sales Operations Directors daily to review results and focus areas, providing coaching and direction as needed.

Coordinates with company executives and department heads for achievement of sales, profits, and customer satisfaction.

Conducts regional sales meetings with the team.

Conducts quarterly meetings with Independent Operators/Distributors at all assigned sales centers (warehouses).

Improves overall Independent Operators/Distributor engagement.

Maintains appropriate talent levels to support sales growth and succession planning.

Leads execution across key customers.

Ensures the team develops skills through training programs and development opportunities.

Analyzes and optimizes sales routes within regions; consolidates routes and develops new routes as needed.

Submits an itinerary and activity report weekly.

Communicates policies, programs, and instructions effectively.

Oversees regional facilities to meet Utz safety and facility standards; ensures Food Safety programs are followed.

Performs other duties as assigned to support company objectives.

Travel: 60% to 70%.

Salary: $200k to $240k.

Requirements

15+ years of relevant experience in DSD Sales and Operations.

Demonstrated leadership with a track record of guiding, motivating, and developing high-performing sales teams.

Entrepreneurial mindset and positive attitude to foster innovation in a dynamic sales environment.

Comprehensive knowledge of regional sales management operations with hands-on experience leading teams to achieve ambitious targets.

Exceptional collaboration skills across organizational levels and with sales teams in market and warehouse settings.

Strong communication skills, including delivering presentations and producing high-quality written materials.

Solid business acumen with insight into company objectives, market dynamics, and culture.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software for data analysis, reporting, and presentations.

Experience leveraging technology and software solutions for forecasting, analytics, and budgeting.

Experience interpreting IRI and retailer data to inform sales strategies.

Excellent time management with ability to prioritize multiple projects.

Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel weekly, including overnight stays, across a sizeable territory.

Bachelor’s degree in business preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
