Job Overview

The Director of National Account Services is responsible for overseeing all retention and revenue growth activities associated with the strategic management of in‑force customers, contract renewal negotiations, contract management, growth and relationship development. The Director supervises, trains and continuously develops a team of account managers. This position protects the existing client base, cultivates value‑based relationships, grows revenue and creates a high‑performing workforce. It leads a West‑Coast based team; preferred candidates will reside in California or a neighboring state. Responsibilities

Develop and execute a proactive strategic plan for existing clients. Develop, train and coach Account Managers against established goals and objectives. Translate strategy into action steps. Collaborate with sales management to effectively present the organization in market and further generate revenue. Cultivate relationships with key groups and brokers. Identify best practices and work with appropriate leadership to remove obstacles to ensure that teams are fully functioning and revenue‑building goals and objectives are being met. Partner with the Sales Directors in the acquisition and implementation of new business. Develop annual department budgets, monitor variances and take corrective actions as appropriate. Oversee Salesforce updates to assure maintenance of comprehensive and accurate data. Model Performance Consulting acumen and coach the team to engage in this manner at all times—internal and external. Perform other duties as requested or assigned. Qualifications

12+ years of related experience and a bachelor’s degree, including 3+ years of management. 5 years of experience in the employee benefits industry is required. Ability to motivate, inspire and coach teams to successful completion of goals. High comfort level providing and seeking transparent feedback on performance and development opportunities. Ability to negotiate with brokers and top‑level clients. Strong organizational, time management and multi‑tasking abilities. Strong presentation, analytical and problem‑solving skills. Working knowledge of the healthcare industry. Experience in Salesforce, MS Office. Life, accident & disability license preferred. Pay

The national base pay range at the end is a good‑faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Pay Grade 24: $123,624 – $267,751. Benefits
