Director of Sales - Seafood Industry

The Director of Sales is responsible for leading the CFE sales team and overall sales efforts of the company. This will include servicing and growing our long-term accounts, as well as developing new business and product line offerings.

Job Functions

Management of existing sales team members, and any newly hired team members, through sales coaching, sharing best practices, leading by example, joint sales calls, metrics monitoring and reporting, sales quotas, pipeline management, etc.

Create short and long-term sales plans that focus on increasing dollars, cases, and pounds sold, in existing and new accounts.

Responsible for calling on and selling wholesale and retail distributors, and retail grocery chains. The primary business market is in the USA and Caribbean.

Manage broker network including goal setting, reviews, deduction management, etc.

Review and approve all sales orders against pricing and inventory levels.

Track sales by account and ensure that sales are on-target on a month-to-month basis.

Market feedback and analysis for our salted and frozen products with respect to pricing, packaging, and placement in geographic and distribution market segmentation, as well as store placement, density of distribution within retailer groups (percentage of stores that sell the product), demographic distribution within retailer groups, and market saturation.

Identify product lines opportunities to develop or co-pack and commercialize/distribute.

Manage promotional spends by account and in aggregate, focusing on high ROI spends.

Conduct store audits to gather market information, determine whether the CFE products are appropriately represented, placement is accurate, etc.

Commit to becoming a CFE product expert and understanding the salted fish and frozen seafood markets including trends, competition, products, pricing, innovations, regional preferences, etc.

Qualifications

Five plus years of experience leading sales teams while increasing revenues and margins.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to travel as needed to client locations, trade shows, seminars, etc.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in a business major preferred.

Hybrid Schedule

8:30am-5:30pm - In-Office Monday, Wednesday and Friday, remote Tuesday and Thursday.
