Banking Relationship Specialist Position:

Full Time – Admin Support Location:

Lake Forest Bank, Lake Forest, CA, US Salary:

$20.50 – $41.50 annually

Job Summary The Banking Relationship Specialist (BRS) delivers outstanding customer service and sales while performing teller transactions at branch locations. The role combines teller duties with relationship‑building responsibilities, addressing client inquiries, opening new accounts, and maintaining existing accounts in compliance with bank policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

Consult with clients and prospects about financial goals, identify and promote F&M products and services.

Cross‑sell bank products and refer clients to other departments for additional needs.

Open new personal and business accounts and perform maintenance tasks such as address changes, check reorders, and signer changes.

Explain bank procedures, prioritize work, and manage frequent interruptions using strong problem‑solving skills.

Support marketing campaigns and product launches; quote rates, terms, and fees on bank products.

Collect and review account documentation, ensuring proper completion.

Process client requests by mail, including deposits, transfers, and automatic withdrawal setups.

Research and resolve client account problems (e.g., check encoding errors, deposits not credited, interest adjustments).

Perform routine teller transactions as needed.

Comply with bank security guidelines, federal and state regulations, and internal procedures.

Identify potential fraud or elder abuse and notify Branch Management.

Develop and maintain knowledge required for job functions; complete compliance and technical training workshops.

Perform outbound client contact to build relationships.

Qualifications

Clear understanding of English language (spoken & written).

Basic mathematics, organization, time management, and customer service skills.

Basic sales skills, critical thinking, judgment, and problem‑solving abilities.

Active listening, communication, and the ability to handle difficult interactions.

Education & Experience High School Diploma or equivalent required. Preferred candidates should have 1 year of teller experience and 1+ years of new accounts/sales experience.

Additional Requirements

Must travel to various bank locations.

Saturday hours may be required.

Equipment & Physical Requirements

Desk‑side computers, currency machines, scanners, teller cash recyclers, and standard office equipment.

Requires repetitive movement, prolonged sitting, lifting up to 25 lbs, and manual handling of objects.

Office setting with controlled temperature.
