The Senior Marketing Advisor is a mature, experienced person of faith who provides strategic leadership and guidance to strengthen marketing of the Brian & Patricia Giese Foundation’s visibility, engagement, and impact. This role focuses on overseeing marketing that elevates the foundation’s mission with partner charities, increasing donor and community engagement, and supporting fundraising and program growth of our partner investments. The Advisor works closely with foundation leadership to ensure all messaging, campaigns, and public communications clearly reflect the organization’s values, mission, and philanthropic goals. Key Responsibilities
Strategic Marketing Leadership
Develop and oversee the foundation’s overall marketing and communications strategy. Provide guidance on brand positioning, storytelling, and public messaging for charity investments. Ensure consistent brand identity across all digital, print, and public communications. Digital & Content Strategy
Advise on website content, social media presence, newsletters, and digital campaigns. Guide development of impactful storytelling highlighting the foundation’s work and beneficiaries. Recommend tools and platforms to improve outreach and audience engagement. Public Relations & Visibility
Assist with press releases, media outreach, and event promotion. Identify opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships, and community visibility. Provide guidance for public speaking materials and foundation presentations. Campaign & Initiative Oversight
Support planning and execution of marketing initiatives tied to programs, events, and fundraising drives with charity partners. Evaluate marketing performance and recommend improvements based on analytics and outcomes. Qualifications
10+ years of experience in direct marketing, communications, branding, or nonprofit development. Demonstrated experience leading marketing strategy or advising executive leadership. Strong understanding of nonprofit marketing, donor engagement, and philanthropic communications. Excellent writing, storytelling, and brand messaging skills. Experience with digital marketing platforms, social media strategy, and content development. Ability to think strategically while supporting practical implementation. Preferred Experience
Experience working with nonprofit foundations or philanthropic organizations. Background in fundraising campaigns or donor communications. Media relations or public relations experience. Experience advising boards or executive leadership teams. Key Competencies
