## Description**Reports To:** Assistant Head of School### **Job Summary**The Director of Transportation is responsible for overseeing the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of the school’s transportation program. This role manages scheduling, fleet maintenance, driver coordination, and regulatory compliance while supporting the school’s mission and daily operations.### **Key Responsibilities****Leadership & Operations*** Oversee daily transportation operations in collaboration with school leadership* Develop and manage bus and van schedules for academic, athletic, and extracurricular activities* Coordinate with principals, athletic directors, and staff regarding transportation needs* Serve as a backup driver as needed**Fleet Management*** Ensure all vehicles are properly maintained, fueled, licensed, and inspected* Maintain accurate maintenance schedules, records, and compliance with safety regulations**Driver Oversight & Compliance*** Recruit, screen, and coordinate drivers for all transportation needs* Ensure completion of background checks, licensing requirements, and medical certifications* Review driving records to ensure driver eligibility* Maintain all required documentation and compliance with local and state regulations**Budget & Administration*** Assist in developing and managing the transportation budget in partnership with the Director of Operations* Maintain confidentiality of student, family, and staff information* Complete additional duties and special projects as assigned### **Skills & Competencies*** Strong organizational and scheduling abilities* Knowledge of transportation safety practices and fleet maintenance* Effective communication and interpersonal skills* Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines* Proficiency with basic computer systems and transportation-related tools### **Work Environment & Physical Requirements*** Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull as needed* Frequent bending, kneeling, and standing* Work in varying weather conditions and environments* Ability to safely operate transportation equipment### **Spiritual & Professional Expectations*** Model a Christ-centered life in attitude, speech, and actions* Build positive, respectful relationships with students, families, and staff* Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and strong work ethic* Support the school’s mission and maintain a positive public image## Qualifications**Qualifications*** A committed Christian who affirms the school’s mission and statement of faith* Active involvement in a church aligned with the school’s beliefs* Valid driver’s license with CDL and insurability #J-18808-Ljbffr
