Must possess a valid NJ Teaching Certificate or NJ Substitute Teaching Certificate.
All candidates must become a New Jersey resident within one year of starting the position (P.L. 2011, c. 70).
Compliance In accordance with S‑414/A‑3188, school districts and affiliated employers are required to review the last twenty years of employment history of prospective employees to ascertain allegations of child abuse or sexual misconduct. Employers must conduct such a review by contacting former and current employers and requesting information regarding child abuse and sexual misconduct allegations.
Positions open unexpectedly and fill quickly. To apply for positions that are not currently listed as open, applicants should establish a pre‑employment file by completing the online application.
Unless approved by the Superintendent under special circumstances, internal 10‑month/11‑month employees may only apply for a vacant contract position during the transfer period with effective date of the following school year. Long‑Term Substitute Assignments are not available for contracted teaching staff.
