As a Preconstruction Executive / Preconstruction Director, you'll join a strong team and play a critical leadership role supporting design-build efforts across a diverse $150M+ annual portfolio. As a Preconstruction Executive / Preconstruction Director, you will: Lead preconstruction for major design-build projects, from early concept through GMP development Provide strategic estimating, scoping, budgeting, and value-engineering leadership across multiple public-sector and institutional projects Partner closely with design teams, clients, and internal project leaders to drive clarity, accuracy, and early decision-making Support and mentor the preconstruction team, including existing Managers and the current Executive Guide project teams through early-stage ambiguity and proactively identify risks, cost drivers, and opportunities Navigate DC governmental processes and requirements (especially DGS), or apply equivalent design-build expertise if new to DGS Represent preconstruction in key client discussions, internal planning sessions, and business development efforts when needed Operate with autonomy while having strong, supportive access to senior leadership-and a clear path into the Director role Recent Projects: Modernization of a 90,000+ SF elementary school, delivered via design-build Large-scale expansion and historic renovation of a higher education building, 250,000+ SF 85,000+ SF ground-up elementary school modernization MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
