Position Summary
The Department Chair of Marketing and Management has a 12-month administrative appointment, including teaching and research responsibilities. Reporting to the Dean, department chairs are responsible for the implementation of university, college, and department policies and strategic plans.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
Specific duties of the Chair include teaching, scholarly research and academic engagement activities, executing college and university policies to accurately and expediently handle student concerns and grievances, driving innovation in curricula, assisting with accreditation reporting, promoting the Department’s programs, collaborating with enrollment and advising staff, and managing departmental operations – including departmental budget, faculty workloads and evaluations, course scheduling, and travel and purchasing requests.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Earned a PhD or similar terminal (academic) doctoral degree from an accredited university in marketing, management, logistics, entrepreneurship, or a similar discipline that aligns with the department

Minimum of six years of full-time higher education experience

Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills

Demonstrated record of teaching, scholarship, and service commensurate with appointment at the associate professor or professor level in the Department of Marketing and Management

Understanding of the effective administration of a university department to include curricular evaluation and design, strategic planning, faculty development, budgeting, and accreditation

Skills Considered Essential for Success
