We’re hiring a full-cycle Account Executive with 2-4 years of experience selling software.
This is a local position, with hybrid options for employees who live 30-60 minutes away.
Qualified candidates are confident in their ability to generate pipeline and close deals in our target market
ABOUT THE COMPANY Civic Review is a Utah-based SaaS startup that provides software for local governments to help them manage their permitting and licensing process. Civic Review started in 2017 and currently consist of a team of 8 individuals. Since we serve municipal customers, overall revenue has been reliable and growth has been steady.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR We’re looking for a full-cycle Account Executive who has experience cultivating leads and closing deals that can require multiple stake-holders. A good fit will be excited about working with a small startup and working closely with the founder and BDRs. This role is a good match for somebody who is excited about hunting down commissions and making an impact on a young company.
We’re seeking a high-performer who can demonstrate the following qualities :
2 to 4 years of quota-carrying sales experience and have previously sold software solutions
Self-motivated, hunter mentality
Intelligent, showing the ability to brainstorm solutions with customers via our platform
Eager to use the best method possible for finding qualified leads, including but not limited to cold calling, conferences, email, etc.
Detail oriented, especially when it comes to logging activities in the CRM
Ability to travel as needed (about 20-30%)
Goal-oriented, continually seeks to improve individual performance
Enjoys the challenge of selling in a committee-driven environment, with multiple, cross-functional decision makers
Proficiency in communication including writing, verbal, and in-person channels
Work closely with the founder to fine-tune positioning, messaging, and sales strategy
Join an early team and grow with it
Work closely with customers (municipalities) and help them improve their processes in permitting and licensing
Have a direct impact on company growth and direction
Have an opportunity to wear many hats and gain experience in various areas of the business
ABOUT THE ROLE The company founder has been able to close all existing customers, and is looking to significantly expand growth with the addition of a dedicated sales representative. You will be responsible for finding opportunities, nurturing leads, and closing deals. Together with the founder you will help test and experiment with different strategies for growth.
Your target audience includes Clerks, Community Development Directors, Building Officials, City Planners, Finance Directors, and City/County Managers.
Activities will likely include:
Pursuing leads generated by the BDR team, and yourself, and leading prospected customers all the way to close
You’re expected to generate 20% of your own pipeline through cold calls
Attend conferences and network with current and future customers
Make sales presentations to prospective customers including high-level demonstrations
Continuously experiment with different methodologies to improve overall sales ROI
Are excited about working with a small company and having a voice to make improvements to our processes and business strategies
Can meet expected quotas, as set by the company founder
Show willingness and understanding as quotas and compensation structures are adjusted
Show a willingness to occasionally accept other responsibilities outside your role (this is a small company, after-all)
Work well with the team and can establish a relationship of trust among your coworkers
