
Marketing Assistant, Putnam - (Hybrid)

Putnam is seeking a Marketing Assistant to support the VP, Associate Publisher, Director of Marketing, and Associate Director of Marketing, and the department as a whole.
As part of the marketing team, the Marketing Assistant will work on early campaign planning, brainstorm promotions, prepare meeting documents, coordinate meetings, assist with mailings, research new promotional opportunities, provide social media support, and help manage design and sales requests. The role will also liaise with the sales team, editors, designers, publicists, and other marketers to ensure timely execution of marketing campaigns.
Specific responsibilities:
Supports title‑specific marketing and promotional campaigns.
Updates, organizes, and maintains internal marketing database systems.
Performs consumer research and contributes to Putnam’s social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Goodreads).
Coordinates category‑specific promotions and sweepstakes.
Coordinates materials in preparation for sales meetings.
Assists with incoming requests from Sales, Editorial, Managing Editorial, and Art departments.
Assembles reports to monitor sales and other metrics associated with marketing promotions.
Qualifications:
Strong interest in marketing and book publishing.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a deadline‑driven environment.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms.
Knowledge of Photoshop, Canva, online marketing tools, advertising management platforms, and social media analytics is a plus.
Position details:
Hybrid position with approximately 2–3 days a week in office at 1745 Broadway. Candidates may work remotely if located within NJ, CT, or NY.
Salary: $51,000 per year. Eligible for annual profit award or bonus subject to company results.
