Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) About The Role We are seeking a highly strategic and commercially driven Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) to lead marketing with a primary focus on new customer acquisition, digital offers, and revenue generation within the payments ecosystem. The CMO will be responsible for designing and scaling offer-driven growth strategies that influence consumer payment behavior and drive measurable cost savings and revenue growth for both our company and our clients. The ideal candidate is an expert in digital offers, loyalty, and customer engagement, with deep experience in leveraging promotions, incentives, and rewards to influence payment transaction behavior. This leader will regularly engage with client executives—including CMOs and growth leaders—to shape strategies that connect payments, offers, and loyalty into a cohesive and high-performing revenue engine. Key Responsibilities Revenue & Customer Acquisition Leadership Own and drive end-customer acquisition strategy with a focus on scalable, measurable growth Develop and execute offer-driven marketing campaign strategies that directly influence payment behavior and transaction volume Lead initiatives that generate significant revenue through consumer engagement, offers, and incentives, rather than brand awareness alone Offers, Loyalty & Payments Strategy Define and evolve the intersection of payments, loyalty, and digital offers to create compelling consumer value propositions Design and optimize offer constructs, rewards programs, and promotional strategies that drive desired payment behaviors Partner with product and data teams to continuously test, learn, and refine offer performance and effectiveness Client-Facing Strategy & Advisory Serve as a strategic advisor to client CMOs and growth leaders, guiding them on how to use offers and incentives to drive greater engagement, loyalty that results in more lower cost payments, more frequent visits and higher basket sizes Translate complex payment capabilities into actionable marketing and growth strategies for clients Support enterprise sales efforts by articulating the value of offer-driven payment solutions in driving ROI Demand Generation & Digital Marketing Build and lead a modern, performance-driven marketing engine focused on digital acquisition, conversion, and engagement Oversee paid media, lifecycle marketing, CRM, and marketing automation to drive measurable results Leverage data and analytics to optimize customer acquisition cost (CAC), lifetime value (LTV), and campaign performance Brand & Positioning (Supporting Role) Ensure the brand supports and amplifies the company’s strategy, value proposition, growth and revenue objectives Position the company as a leader in payments-driven offers and loyalty innovation Maintain consistent, compelling messaging across all channels, with a focus on commercial impact Leadership & Team Development Build and lead a high-performing marketing organization aligned to growth and revenue outcomes Establish clear KPIs tied to pipeline, revenue contribution, and customer acquisition Partner cross-functionally with sales, product, and customer success to align on growth strategy Qualifications 12+ years of marketing experience, with significant leadership in fintech, payments, loyalty, or digital consumer platforms Proven track record of driving customer acquisition and revenue through digital offers, promotions, or incentive-based marketing Deep expertise in consumer behavior, payment ecosystems, and loyalty/rewards strategy Experience working directly with enterprise clients and senior marketing leaders (CMOs, Heads of Growth, etc.) Strong analytical mindset with experience optimizing offer performance, CAC, LTV, and conversion funnels Demonstrated success building and scaling performance marketing and growth teams Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence both internal and external stakeholder What Success Looks Like A strong brand in the payments ecosystem that drives new client acquisition and revenue growth Significant existing client revenue growth driven by offer-based strategies and customer engagement Measurable improvements in customer acquisition, conversion rates, and payment volume Strong client partnerships, with clients viewing the company as a strategic advisor to CMOs on payment-driven growth A high-performing marketing function that is deeply tied to revenue, not just brand awareness Why Join Spire At Spire, we’re building something that’s not only innovative, but meaningful.
