Base pay range $220,000.00/yr - $350,000.00/yr Additional compensation types Annual Bonus Role: External Communications Lead Location: New York, NY (Hybrid) Company: Global Investment & Trading firm Capstone Hill Search is partnering with a highly respected global investment firm to appoint an External Communications Lead . This is a rare opportunity to join a discreet, high-performance environment where communications is focused on issues management, media response, and stakeholder advisory , not proactive outreach. Key Responsibilities Manage and triage inbound media inquiries with discretion and sound judgment. Partner closely with an external PR agency on messaging, response strategy, and sensitive communications. Anticipate emerging issues or narratives and advise internal teams on appropriate preparation and positioning. Track coverage, manage the media inbox, and ensure internal stakeholders are briefed in real time. Support crisis and issues management alongside senior leadership. Build trusted relationships with internal stakeholders across trading, research, and business functions. Prepare executives and internal teams for conferences, panels, and external speaking engagements. Requirements 8+ years of corporate communications experience in financial services, capital markets, or strategic communications. Demonstrated experience in issues and crisis management —calm, precise, and highly responsive. Skilled writer with the ability to craft clear, measured external messaging. Comfortable in low-profile environments where proactive media engagement is limited. High discretion and excellent judgment when handling sensitive information. Ability to collaborate with senior stakeholders, global colleagues, and agency partners. Familiarity with fast-moving global media cycles; understanding of Asia time zones is a plus.
