Real Estate Development Manager

New Hope Housing, Inc. (NHHI) seeks a positive, confident and results-driven professional with a service-oriented spirit. The Real Estate Development Manager works with the Department whose responsibility is to ensure the long-term viability of New Hope Housing developments. The Manager assists with all aspects of planning, development, and construction. The position also coordinates real estate projects across departments at New Hope Housing.

Someone with a background in business; finance; real estate; housing; community, or economic development; urban planning/design; architecture; or engineering would be a great fit. You will work directly with experienced developers and other professionals and acquire valuable skills useful in real estate development and general project.

Duties and Responsibilities

Work in a collaborative manner with different work groups throughout NHH, including, but not limited to, Fund Development & Communications, Compliance, Property Management, Resident Services, Accounting, and People & Culture.

Work collaboratively with all partners and vendors to ensure effective and smooth operations.

Assists with all facets of:

Site selection

Development of project budget

Preparation of funding applications.

Underwriting and finance closing

Construction management

Track capital needs

Initial due diligence on potential Real Estate Development transactions

Proficiency in RED pro forma Financial modeling

Maintain project schedules, budgets, and files

Attend construction meetings and writing progress reports

Utilize asset management tools to assess existing property risk and assist Property Management as necessary

Communicate regularly with team members about goals and tasks

Collaborate with consultants and business partners on day-to-day requests

The Real Estate Development Manager must be nimble and able to adapt to new situations quickly.

Able to navigate frequently shifting priorities and urgent deadlines.

Occasional evening meetings and out-of-town travel.

Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

BA or BS Degree from four-year college

Proficiency in Excel

Ability to work productively unsupervised

Willingness to work on occasional, sometimes repetitive tasks

Experience in general project management / construction management preferred

Equipment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computer, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines

Must have access to a personal vehicle and hold a valid state driver’s license and insurance

Must have a mobile phone with reliable service.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to navigate a construction site during all phases. Must be able to lift 20 lbs.
