Marketing Specialist

The Marketing Specialist is primarily responsible for designing, developing, and producing proposals, presentations, and other marketing materials. This position requires regular collaboration with leadership, business development, and technical team members to develop marketing materials and strategies that promote Manhattan's positive image and services. As a part of Manhattan's centralized marketing department, the marketing specialist works under the direction of corporate marketing and area leadership to which they are assigned. Major duties and responsibilities include maintaining scheduling and tracking systems for individual pursuit, proposal elements, and status; assisting in developing pursuit plans and client outreach activities ahead of RFP release; organizing presentation rehearsals; following electronic file structure, access, and backup procedures for all proposal materials; generating custom copy for proposals and presentations, including writing/editing text, design layout, custom graphics, tailoring resumes, and integrating schedules, with input from the marketing director, business developer, project director, and technical team; helping produce SOQs/proposals, including editing and graphics; preparing for digital and print reproduction; identifying and monitoring SOQ/proposal criteria and ensuring the response is fully compliant; handling production and arranging for on-time delivery of SOQs/proposals; tracking pre-submittal meeting schedules and attendees and identifying decision-makers; maintaining systems to extract, categorize, and retrieve information related to clients, consultants, personnel, projects, prior proposals, boilerplate, and visuals; supporting online presence, including social media and website; embracing and implementing brand standards; drafting press releases and supporting public relations efforts under the direction of the Marketing and Communications Director; monitoring online and print sources, including newspapers, magazines, and blogs; ensuring compliance with copyright laws and photographer usage rights; coordinating awards competition entries; ensuring compliance with award requirements; coordinating firm/company special events; monitoring sources of industry-related market information; gathering research data related to clients; competitors; past, current, and prospective markets; and relevant corporate experience; coordinating final project photography, including input on the shoot list; responsible for conducting themselves in accordance with our Guiding Principles and exhibiting attributes matching the Way We Work; and other duties as assigned. o-go process; knowledge of software/technologies for developing client presentations/communications; proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); understanding SOQ/proposal production, including digital and printing/binding; and passion for participating in professional development and community-focused organizations. Minimum qualifications include an associate or bachelor's degree recommended and five or more years of relevant A/E/C experience required. Recommended: Attend SMPS and other relevant industry workshops; become familiar with SMPS Six Domains of Professional Services Marketing; prepare to earn the Certified Professional Services Marketer (CPSM) certification. Working conditions and physical efforts include the ability to physically stand, bend, sit for long periods, and squat throughout the day; ability to repeat the same movements; ability to communicate effectively to participate fully in meetings, video conferences, and phone calls; use hands to type, handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or control; occasionally lift, pull, or move up to 25 lbs; and occasional travel will be required, primarily in the metropolitan area but sometimes domestically (must have a valid Driver's License).
