Sales and Marketing Manager, Catering and Conferences
The Catering and Conferences Sales and Marketing Manager will work directly with clients and potential clients to secure their business and plan events. This position will also work with internal AU clients to generate BEOs for their events. This position is also responsible for all print and digital marketing for Catering and Conferences, including brochures, menus, the website, social media, and email campaigns.
Sales Responsibilities
Lead venue tours with prospective clients.
Initiate and complete all sales follow‑up for all leads, including emails, calls, reminders, and tracking in Click Up.
Generate all food, beverage, linen, and décor details for all booked events.
Manage all upsells and upsell programs, including décor, all‑inclusive packages, and Eagle Custom merchandise.
Respond to all AU Catering emails and other inquiries.
Act on all website inquiries.
Attend bridal shows to sell AU Catering services and venues.
Collaborate with the Director and Chef to plan details of university‑hosted special events such as YMBC Ladies Night and the Eagle Golf Outing.
Work with the Director of Catering and Conferences to create new menus, packages, and brochures, including pricing.
Generate all internal supply orders and maintain the supply order form with new items and annual pricing updates.
Initiate booking of repeat clients’ events, year to year or over several years.
Run bridal and other large event tastings.
Support sales and marketing initiatives in other Auxiliary Services departments.
Propose and review approved quarterly key performance indicators (KPIs).
Marketing Responsibilities
Create marketing materials and campaigns for catering special events, menus, brochures, and social media content, aligned with university brand guidelines.
Manage the Catering website.
Oversee all digital marketing content, including Catering Instagram and Facebook, as well as wedding and event website pages.
Design and deploy both digital and print flyers.
Create and send all email marketing campaigns for catering.
Manage follow‑up with large event clients post‑event for feedback.
Other Responsibilities
Review invoices weekly to confirm final client charges.
Receive deposits and payments as needed.
Place Connie Duglin linen orders for booked events.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Hospitality, or Marketing.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a food service operation.
Experience in events management.
Additional Information
Physical Demands: Anticipated start date of new hire – 03/25/2026.
Estimated number of hours per week: 40–50, with varied shifts.
