Job Summary
This position is responsible for developing and implementing a successful social media strategy that aligns with the NWTF’s brand direction. This position will leverage all NWTF social media channels to effectively communicate with our audience and grow membership, while working with other individuals and departments within the NWTF to develop content that highlights our mission.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff
Manage, lead and develop department staff
Develops and executes creative social media strategies that align with the overall brand strategy
Oversees the daily workflow of the department
Monitors metrics for channels to evaluate effectiveness of social media strategy
Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations
Builds, maintains and evaluates effectiveness of influencer/storyteller plan
Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy
Duties and Responsibilities
Take the lead on all social media projects and see them to completion
Develop a unique editorial calendar for social media that creates a plan for unique social content as well as web, magazine and video content calendar media.
Use social media to better communicate and engage our audiences and grow membership. Leverage social media channels to increase the reach and impact of:
Membership Campaigns
Fundraisers
Magazines
Television/Radio/Podcasts
Press releases
Promotional materials (brochures, fliers, etc.)
E-newsletter
Eblasts
Ensure that we adhere to contractual commitments and schedule partner posts across a variety of social channels
Monitor and engage with audiences on social platforms
Create, correct and format pictures and video for social media and web
Edit content for consistency and accuracy by recognizing discrepancies in language, layout, formatting or NWTF branding
Understand the NWTF’s mission and promote the NWTF to media, members and the public, as well as other employees
Follow emerging & developing trends in social media content as well as changes and developments in current and new social media platforms
Attend annual NWTF Convention, regional meetings and training opportunities, as necessary.
Performs other related duties as assigned
Manage Google AD grant to maximize monthly spend
Requirements
Required Skills/Abilities
Must be able to take projects from concept to completion with minimal guidance
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills a must
Proficiency with Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube and other social media channels from a business perspective with an emphasis on ad creation and evaluation
Basic knowledge of Adobe CS (HTML and photo editing) for use in developing web content
Basic video editing skills for social media content
Knowledge of AP style
Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel
Proficiency with Google analytics and Google Ad Grant Management
Attention to detail and fact checking
Excellent time-management skills as social media monitoring requires time commitments outside of normal business hours to accommodate peak social media traffic on nights and weekends
Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Detail-oriented, creative, deadline-driven team player who can adapt and learn quickly, particularly in regard to new software and technology
Must be able to legally handle firearms
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree communications and/or marketing
At least 4 years related experience required.
Hunter safety certification, or pursue the certification upon hiring
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Remote or Telecomm Status
Position can work remotely.
