Location: Carol Stream, IL 60188 Pay Rate: $17.00/hr Shift: First shift Job Title: 1st Shift Screen Printer Job Location: Carol Stream, IL Job Shift: 1st 6:00am to 4:30pm M-Th; Friday 1/2 day OT as needed; usually 50-60 hours. OT is mandatory Pay Rate: $17.00/hour Job Type: Temp to Hire Requirements/Required Skill Set: Very detailed, good eye site, ability to tell colors apart and color match. Quick learner. Lifting up to 35 pounds; ability to maneuver around machines to tighten up the screens onto the machines with the screens. A lot of bending, twisting, lifting and moving around the machines. Drug Test, County Background check, PPE: Masks up to each individual What to wear: No holes in clothing, clothing that can get dirty, no open toe shoes, jeans or pocketed shorts ok The primary role of the Screen Printer is, through extensive training, to become proficient and eventually an expert in all aspects of screen printing high-tolerance graphic overlays and labels. Initial responsibilities would include learning the processes necessary for creating new screens and cleaning (or reclaiming) used screens. In parallel with that training, the individuals primary responsibility, through extensive training, would be to learn how to set up a screen for printing, learn the color matching process, and screen print finished graphics. Primary Responsibilities: The Printer will be responsible for learning the screen-printing job. This Printer will be running jobs, large to small, both in size and number of runs. This is a printing plant with heavy smells of paint, solvents, paint thinners and inks. Can cause allergic reactions to the throat, skin, smells, and eyes. Please make sure all potential employees are aware of this. Will be using paints and inks. Working closely with Gus, the Printing Manager, to learn the job, it is a slow process to learn and perfect. Learning how to read the paperwork for the job, and also using the computer. Making the screens with the printed layout of the picture on it of what will be printed out with each color. Putting them into the frames, stretching them and making sure that they are aligned correctly. Assembling the sheets of plastic needed, which will already be cut and brought over by the assistant. Assembling the inks that will be needed for the run that will already be blended and completed by the assistant. Once all material is gathered will run the job, color by color and matching each color to the original to make sure there is an exact color match before running the entire run. If not, the color will need to be re-color matched by the assistant. Once all is run and colors are good, each color is run for the job, color by color the job is run screen by screen until the job is completed. Screens will need to be cleaned in between and the space the Printer is working in will need to be kept clean and tidy. Must be trainable and continue to learn on a daily basis. Strong work ethic, good work habits. Other duties as assigned supervisor.
