We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Communications & Social Media Manager to support internal and external communications. The ideal candidate will be an organized, strategic communicator with strong storytelling abilities, a keen understanding of regulated communications, and expertise in managing social media platforms. In this role, you will help maintain and enhance our corporate reputation, lead social media operations, support internal and external communications initiatives, and ensure alignment with industry standards and compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
Develop and support corporate communication strategies that strengthen the company’s reputation across key stakeholders, including patients, healthcare professionals, employees, and partners.
Draft, edit, and distribute corporate communications materials such as press releases, internal announcements, executive messages, town hall presentations, Q&A documents, and talking points.
Assist in preparing communication plans for product updates, corporate initiatives, regulatory milestones, and crisis response—ensuring alignment with legal, medical, and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with PR teams, brand teams, and cross‑functional partners to ensure consistent and compliant communication across all channels.
Ensure all communication materials align with brand voice, corporate values, and pharmaceutical industry standards.
Co‑develop, implement and manage social media strategies to elevate brand awareness, corporate reputation, and audience engagement.
Lead day‑to‑day social media operations, including posting, monitoring comments and messages, addressing inquiries, and ensuring timely escalation of sensitive topics.
Maintain compliance by ensuring all social content and interactions follow industry regulations (e.g., FDA/FTC guidance, adverse event reporting procedures).
Manage social media ad boosting campaigns—including budget planning, targeting, and performance tracking—while adhering to compliance standards.
Prepare regular performance reports and presentations highlighting key social metrics, emerging trends, risk considerations, and actionable insights.
Collaborate with internal teams (Brand, Medical, Legal, Regulatory, Community, eCommerce, Customer Service) to ensure content accuracy, review approvals, and effective campaign execution.
Monitor social media trends, competitor activity, and platform updates, recommending innovative ways to keep content engaging and compliant.
Content Development & Execution
Support development of content for corporate channels including social posts, executive messages, blog articles, internal newsletters, town halls, and digital campaigns.
Assist in moderating monthly Instagram Lives, managing session downloads, and editing video clips for internal and external use.
Generate creative content ideas and submit them for cross‑functional review (MLR/PRC), considering both marketing goals and regulatory boundaries.
Format and compile monthly Social Decks for PRC review, ensuring accuracy and clarity in schedules, creative assets, and messaging.
Edit short‑form videos and produce simple graphics using Canva or similar tools.
Build and maintain relationships with journalists and media outlets.
Coordinate updates to corporate website content, newsroom sections, or blogs.
Qualifications
Experience in healthcare OTC, pharma, biotechnology, and life sciences industries preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field required.
5+ years of experience in social media management, communications, and/or public relations—ideally within the pharmaceutical, healthcare, or highly regulated industry is required.
Understanding of legal, regulatory, and compliance considerations related to pharmaceutical communications (MLR/PRC processes a plus).
Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident of the U.S. or otherwise authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring visa transfer or sponsorship, now or in the future.
Skills & Attributes
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adapt tone and style for corporate, scientific, and consumer audiences.
Strong understanding of social media platforms, algorithms, and best practices within a regulated industry.
Proficiency with social media management tools, analytics software, and scheduling platforms.
Creative thinker with strong storytelling, messaging, and visual communication abilities.
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and generate insights for decision‑making.
Skilled in video editing and graphic design tools (e.g., Canva).
Familiarity with keyword strategy, SEO basics, and trending hashtags.
Skilled in managing budgets for paid social campaigns.
Experience creating executive‑ready presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint.
Ability to multitask, work cross‑functionally, and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced, highly regulated environment.
