RESPONSIBILITIES
BSA/AML Operations Manager
will manage 12-14 team members, overseeing operations (alerts, BSA/AML cases, reviewing/approving Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs)) and advising other teams (suspicious activity, review facts/evidence). They will manage experience, including alerts, queues/cases and SARs to ensure they are not filed late and that timelines are met.
Initially manage operations and project teams, with progression to a governance manager role overseeing audits, quality assurance, audits/exams, procedures and CAMS.
Establish a strategic vision of the bank's AML/OFAC programs, overseeing implementation for the first and second lines of defense and supporting the Development/ enhancement of the Compliance Management System (CMS) to ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations.
Daily tasks include BSA/AML case management and SAR processing, risk assessments, high-risk customer reviews, and OFAC alert clearance.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
Strengthen and lead development of BSA/AML program elements (controls to prevent/detect money laundering, client risk rating methodologies, 3rd party oversight, and KYC programs).
Coordinate and monitor day-to-day BSA/AML compliance and manage the overall BSA/AML program, ensuring regulatory compliance.
Lead BSA/AML/OFAC risk assessments for product/service development enterprise-wide, evaluating inherent risk and control requirements for feasible launch.
Ensure third-party providers comply with BSA/AML and OFAC requirements.
Serve as BSA/AML/OFAC SME on enterprise-wide programs and projects.
Provide day-to-day leadership to BSA/AML/OFAC team members.
Develop and conduct training related to new and ongoing AML/SAR typologies.
Escalate identified risks to leadership up to the Chief Compliance Officer and Board of Directors.
Stay current on regulatory expectations for BSA and related regulations.
Collaborate with fraud departments to ensure BSA requirements are met.
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Note: Since this role may convert to a full-time employee, candidates on work visas (EAD/OPT/H1B) cannot be considered.
7+ years
as a manager, leading large ALM teams/operations (FIU) and investigators/analysts.
7+ years
of experience with BSA requirements and AML investigations/operations.
CAMS
(Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist) or similar certification (ACFCS, ACFE, CRCM) preferred.
Experience managing project timelines, queues/alerts to meet SLAs and SAR processing.
Experience filing, adjudicating, and investigating SARs.
Experience validating risk customers, alerts, and reviews.
Experience overseeing ALM risk assessments, audits/exams, and policies & procedures.
Familiarity with OFAC assessments/alerts (knowledge of OFAC sanctions required).
Experience coordinating and leading audits/exams and determining AML program risks.
Experience with BSA/AML financial crimes investigations (money laundering, identity theft, terrorist financing, red flags, etc.).
Experience providing leadership, development, and strategic direction as a team leader.
Experience interacting with state and federal banking regulators.
HIGHLY DESIRED EXPERIENCE
Experience pulling reports and validating data.
Familiarity with tuning SCRM (Fiserv case management system) to adjudicate, investigate and follow SARs, alerts tuning/modifications.
DESIRED SKILLS / NICE TO HAVE
Education: Four-Year College Degree (BA or BS).
Certifications: ACAMS, ACFE, ACFCS, CRCM.
Experience with regulatory compliance processes for BSA/USA Patriot Act and OFAC, including program development and maintenance.
