Position Overview The Account Manager partners with an assigned Sales Representative to manage and grow an established portfolio of shipper accounts. This role serves as the primary link between the customer and internal operations, ensuring service consistency while identifying opportunities to expand and strengthen each relationship.
This is a hybrid role by design. Account Managers are expected to operate confidently in customer-facing environments while maintaining a strong command of execution. While dedicated operational support exists, this position requires the ability to step in, take ownership, and perform at a high level when the situation demands it.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with Sales to manage and grow a portfolio of key accounts
Develop and maintain relationships across multiple levels within customer organizations
Lead QBRs and business reviews using internal data and market insights to identify trends and opportunities
Manage the full bid lifecycle in coordination with the pricing team, including RFPs, rate negotiations, and contract implementation
Work with operations to establish and maintain SOPs and customer-specific KPIs
Maintain a working knowledge of account-level execution and step into load coverage when required
Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customers, maintaining a high standard of communication and service
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in an Account Management role, specifically in the 3PL space.
Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in both customer-facing and operational roles
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and communicate insights clearly
Professional written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Bachelor’s degree preferred
