Alpha FMC is seeking an experienced technology executive to serve as a fractional/embedded Sr. Technology Executive across a portfolio of insurance sector clients in the New York City area. This is a contract consulting engagement in which the selected candidate will be placed with Alpha FMC's external clients as part of an ongoing advisory and delivery relationship. The role is client-facing and execution-oriented, requiring both strategic vision and hands‑on leadership within complex, regulated environments.
As an embedded technology leader, you will act as the senior technology executive for one or more client organizations, providing both strategic direction and operational oversight.
What you’ll do
Establish and execute technology strategy where needed. Serve as a strategic advisor to Alpha's clients on technology trends, emerging technologies, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity risk, and long‑term investment priorities. Partner with senior executives to embed technology capabilities into business strategy, product development, operational efficiency, and member experience initiatives. Provide regular executive‑level reporting to the board and senior leadership on technology performance, risk posture, major initiatives, and emerging issues. Oversee all technology operations including infrastructure, networks, systems, applications, data platforms, and end‑user services. Ensure technology platforms are scalable, secure, interoperable, and aligned with lifecycle management and modernization standards. Establish and maintain cybersecurity governance, policies, and controls, including third‑party risk management for technology vendors. Qualifications
A Bachelors’ degree in a related field and at least 10+ years of senior leadership experience guiding modern technology organizations and delivering transformational business outcomes, as well as foundational expertise in custom software solutions. Strong experience with Microsoft software platforms, including Azure. Experience working in the insurance and/or financial services industries preferred. Experience leveraging AI‑driven tools, insights, and automation to enhance workflows, decision making, and operational performance. Ability to define and govern enterprise‑wide API strategies, ensuring secure, scalable, and high‑performing API design. Strong proficiency across tech stacks/tech such as Azure, .Net, Python, etc. Exceptional presentation and communication skills, including keynotes, executive briefings, and small executive roundtables. Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across cross‑functional teams. Adaptability, executive presence, and the ability to thrive in a high growth, meritocratic environment.
